Buy Nothing Day in Berlin and in Germany is part of a growing, International network set up to support and encourage BND projects at all levels and in all places making use of free leading-edge communications technologies It is also protest against the holiday shopping frenzy. Buy Nothing Day is a kind of Anti over-consumption, Activists Carnival. Activists are planning street parties, giving out flyers, and doing umsonst actions, credit card cut-ups and street theater. Some campaigners will dress up as shopping police, handing out "fines" to people overloaded with shopping bags. There are many ways and many things that you can do, to help to teach people about how their over consumption is killing our planet and to help send a strong message to: Take a pause from Shopping!
